The objective of this study was to develop and validate a scoring system to anticipate acute ischemic stroke occurring within 90 days of a transient ischemic attack (TIA) in an emergency department (ED).
Between January 2011 and September 2018, a retrospective examination of the stroke registry records for patients with TIA was undertaken. The collected data included characteristics, medication history, electrocardiogram (ECG) readings, and imaging results. To generate an integer-based point system, a stepwise approach was utilized across both univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses. Using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and the Hosmer-Lemeshow (HL) test, discrimination and calibration were investigated.
