FDRA participants also generated significantly more erroneous responses to non-target stimuli in both saccade paradigms. Finally, a number of correlations between ocular motor and clinical BV-6 measures were revealed including those between contrast acuity and saccadic latency (all saccade types), disease duration and measures of response inhibition (errors and relative latencies for antisaccades), and neurological scores and error latencies, arguably a reflection of difficulty resolving response conflict. These results suggest a role for the cerebellum in higher order cognitive control processes, and further support the proposal that eye movement markers, which can be measured with accuracy and reliability, may be a useful biomarker in FDRA. patients, but they are associated with high rates of death and adverse events. Treatment with rituximab has led to remission rates of 80 to 90% among patients with refractory ANCA-associated vasculitis and may be safer than cyclophosphamide regimens.

Methods: We compared rituximab with cyclophosphamide as induction therapy in ANCA-associated vasculitis. We conducted a 1-year randomized trial in an academic medical ICU of the effects of CH5183284 nighttime staffing with in-hospital intensivists (intervention) as compared with nighttime coverage by daytime intensivists who were available for consultation by telephone (control). We randomly

assigned blocks of 7 consecutive nights to the intervention or the control strategy. The primary outcome was patients’ length of stay in the ICU. Secondary outcomes were patients’ length of stay in the hospital, ICU and in-hospital mortality, discharge disposition, and rates of readmission to the ICU. For length-of-stay outcomes, we performed time-to-event analyses, with data censored at the time of a patient’s death or transfer to another ICU.

Results

OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that levels of adhesion molecules are substantially increased after DCI and decreased

thereafter and that these levels can predict treatment outcomes.

METHODS: Serial circulating markers of adhesion molecules were examined in 21 consecutive SAH patients and 2 risk control subjects. All underwent cerebral angiography and magnetic resonance imaging to confirm the DCI. The timing of magnetic resonance imaging was fixed in the acute phase and before hospital discharge.

RESULTS: Symptomatic DCI developed in 33% of the patients (7 of 21). Statistical analysis of levels of adhesion molecules between patients with and those without DCI revealed that soluble (s) L-selectin, sP-selectin, and sE-selectin concentrations significantly increased after symptomatic DCI (P = .003, .013, and .043, respectively).
